'The Garden of delight stimulates your fantasy and lets you taste the sweetness of paradise. It's tempting to be part of Garden of delight and by tasting the sweet this has become an option. An inverted nature element that spawns, like a sculpture, from the ceiling. This object exists of branches, twigs and leaves in colours and tastes that are to be picked and eaten. A quite idyllic experience.'

garden of delight - Marieke van der Bruggen
Marieke came into the candy shop to seek help for her Garden of Delight piece. The work was used for the Jewels and Joules investigation into food exhibition earlier in the year. She has also remade the piece at papabubble tokyo and will be redoing it for our window this christmas.

christoph niemann - bathroom art
I discovered berlin illustrator, Christoph Niemann through a friends blog. I have since fallen in love with his work, particularly his crafty blog posts in the NYTimes.
The post bellow is really my favourite. It could almost be a substitute for a first year art course.
I hope to blatantly rip off this idea once I'm all grown up with my own bathroom to renovate.

spray candy by ROYALSTEEZ
.......
SPRAYCANDY, the CMYK serie
“Scandalous, vandalous... delicious!”
taken from royalsteez.com
So this guy, Brian, keeps hanging about the candy shop wanting us to give him candy and fill his molds. Luckily enough he does some really cool stuff with it and it is really quite a pleasure to have him and his kids around.
Our first meeting with him was during his 'For the love of Candy' piece. This was a play on Damien Hirst's 'For the love of God' work.
This time he is working on the CMYK series. If your looking for something a little special this chrissy for your maturely age, post- tagging boy or girl, this may be it...
Just a little behind the scenes ....documenting the documenting.....
SPRAYCANDY, the CMYK serie
“Scandalous, vandalous... delicious!”
International candy shop papabubble, famous for its handcrafted sweets, has once again joined forces with artist ROYALSTEEZ. After a successful first collaboration throughout 2008 and 2009, they are back with an exclusive collection of tasty goods: “SPRAYCANDY, the CMYK series”. Yes, a 400 grams lollipop in the shape of a spraycan! There are 4 flavourful colours: Bubblegum Cyan, Strawberry Magenta, Banana Yellow and Passionfruit Black.
Last December, ROYALSTEEZ covered a skull with yellow papabubble sweets and called it “For the Love of Candy”, a delicious version of Damien Hirst’s diamond skull “For the Love of God”. This first collaboration between papabubble and ROYALSTEEZ was a huge success among critics. Throughout 2009, “For the Love of Candy” was on show at several international arts events including the Dutch Affordable Art Fair – it will continue a world tour in 2010.
The limited edition “SPRAYCANDY, the CMYK series” is on sale until 31 December 2009! Available only at papabubble, Haarlemmerdijk 70 Amsterdam. CHECK

papabubble work and play
I thought this would be a nice place to start with the blogumentation of work at papabubble. Our boss Mika had some great stickers from Japan that we put in the window, then we made this window display based on the characters and scenery from the stickers.
